Donna F. Shannon, DVM grew up in Asheville, NC, and attended Western Carolina University. She graduated from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1980. She worked with mixed and small animal practices before opening her own small animal practice in 1982 in St. Johnsbury, VT. In 1990, Dr. Shannon decided to move back to the south to pursue her dream of working with cats only, and opened a feline-only practice in Ft. Myers, FL. She relocated to the Tampa Bay area in 2002, and has worked as a small animal clinician and surgeon for several practices in the area. Dr. Shannon opened The Cat Hospital of Tampa Bay in September, 2008, and looks forward to concentrating on cats again, and providing an environment conducive to recovery and health for her feline patients. She has 8 cats at home that keep her very busy, but very happy.
Rachael has been working with animals for the past 6 years. She has been apart of the Cat Hospital since Feb of 2010. She has 4 cats of her own at home and one big dog that thinks he’s a cat. She is a senior at the University of South Florida and hopes of running a feline rescue and rehabilitation organization when she gets out of school.
Ginger has been with the Cat Hospital since May of 2011. She has worked at several animal clinics and has a lot of knowledge about cats. She has a cat and 2 snakes at home, and she fosters all sorts of critters to get them back into tip top shape.
Drew has been with the Cat Hospital since February 2011. He is a student in the Veterinary Technician Program at St. Petersburg College. He has a cat named Legadema at home, and he has fostered several kittens that have found wonderful homes.
